Fortaleza, a family-owned brand deeply rooted in tradition, is dedicated to crafting small-batch tequilas of exceptional quality. Located in the heart of Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, the distillery, known as La Fortaleza, utilises time-honoured techniques to create their exquisite añejo tequila. The spirit is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, which is grown, harvested, and roasted in traditional brick ovens called "hornos." Once roasted, the agave is crushed using a two-ton tahona stone to extract the juice, which is then fermented in open-air wooden tanks. Following fermentation, Fortaleza Añejo is double distilled in copper pot stills, capturing the essence of its terroir and craftsmanship. The tequila is aged for 18 months in used American oak barrels, allowing it to develop a rich colour, aroma, and flavour profile that is truly exceptional. Fortaleza Añejo is a testament to the brand's commitment to preserving the heritage and traditions of tequila production, while delivering a refined and memorable experience to connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike.

TASTING NOTES:
Smooth | Herbal | Complex
Light on sweetness, with a lovely aroma of agave. Although rested on oak, the taste remains herbaceous and vegetal, without the typical notes usually associated with a highland Reposado. The finish is crisp and round with no burn.
